I'm hoping they didn't just pull the plug and that's what
I wrote to MSFT about. I didn't even blow my cool. I'm
still waiting; upgrading to a newer product won't help me
because my small time local brokerage doesn't offer access
to their network for downloading prices, nor can I import
fom their site...only the big National guys offer
that...at a price($$).

Howard, is it the consensus of disgruntled users like us that MS
pulled the plug, or is there some information from them to back that
up? From what I've reaqd, it seems the "official" word from MS is
"we're working on it". Do they usually stop supporting a product
without any notice? I'm still trying to decide whether to get a new
financial program, or wait a bit longer. Thanks.

Default Money 97 / 5.0 online quotes

I've had the same problem since Feb. 06. If you read all
the threads on this Board you'll see that the consensus is
that MS pulled the plug without notification. I emailed
Corporate Relations and actually got a prompt reply to my
email outlining this situation. While she could not offer
any eal solution, she did say my 'complaint' had been
forwarded. I can't offer anything better than what has
been posted over the past 10 days, but if i get a reply
from MS again, I'll post it, too.

As soon as I hear anything I will post but I haven't seen a timetable and
also MS could deem it "too hard" but I am just speculating.

Bob, Thanks for the quick response. So, I assume there is
hope that this bug will be resolved for Money 5.0? Is
there anyway to keep updated on the status -- for
instance, would you be willing to post news on the fix?

MS say they have not deliberately withdrawn downloads for M97. Support have
a bug open. It seems M97 uses a different dll to M98 and up.

Default Money 97 / 5.0 online quotes

I am using Money 5.0 with Windows 98 and a dial-up account
in the US. I have been unable to get any online quotes
since about February 5 -- all I get is all symbols "not
recognized". I have applied the recommended fixes -
downloaded Money deluxe, active x, ocx file, etc- and
reinstalled the program, with no success. There was a
suggestion that MS's server changed in a way that no
longer supports Money 5.0. If so, can someone from MS (or
maybe the MVP) please confirm this? I will update to a new
version if I have to, but what's frustrating is not
getting a clear answer as to the problem. Thanks.
