My problem maynot be the same as yours, but it sounds
similar. I've been using Money for years. The password
was linked to my Hotmail account before MS introduced
Passport. I never changed it. One day I could not open
the Money 2003 file. I checked my Hotmail profile to
verify the password only to find MS had disabled the
account for lack of activity. I guess they didn't count
the 3 or 4 times I logged on through Money 2003 on a
weekly basis. I reactivated the account. I wish I had
stopped there. But, I improved the password to make it
more secure. Now I still can't open my Money file. I've
tried combinations of passwords. I've changed the
Hotmail password back. Nothing will work. MS technical
support say all is lost. Open a new file and re-enter
the six or seven years of data and start over.

I spoke with Microsoft support on Sunday.. They made a
change on their end that caused this problem.. The plan
to have it fixed tonight... They basically said..
Uninstall Money 2002, and reinstall using custom
install... Install it to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Money\2002 file location.. Then.. When you open it, dont
run any updates until this Wednesday... They stated there
is a problem with the updates...
