In Money 2003 the Accounts&Bills-> Categories&Payees-> Payees-> PreferredPayeeNames shows how downloaded names are translated into Payees. Click Payees in the left column, and you can see Payees. From there, move will let you consolidate payees. In particular make note of some generic term that is being translated into "Waste Management" Click on GoToPayeeRulesManager. Excluded Payee Names identifies words and phrases that should be ignored from the payee field (e.g., check, deposit). In your case, you will probably want to add the term that is being translated into "Waste Management". Add any other words that are generically added by your bank. Unfortunately there are no wildcards, so check 334, check 335, and check 336 will each be treated as potential new payee names. Tools-> Options-> OnlineServices-> ReplacePayeeNames may be the solution to that. I hope helps. |

| For some bizarre reason I have many (20-30) withdrawls labeled as "Waste Management" (a company that I usually pay with ePay) but they are quite obviously not "Waste Management" In one case I think it's my PC banking fee, and in another I believe it's an amount I charged at a local grocery store. I don't understand why Money is suddenly and for no apparent reason changing the name of payees! This does not seem like something a financial management software should do! Any help would be appreciated |
