First, I would find sample.mny and see if I can launch Money> but Money shuts down. What else can I try? successfully by double-clicking the file in the search window or in Window Explorer. Failure for that to work would point to the problem being some kind of installation problem rather than a problem of the particular file. Having sample.mny work is not proof of a good install, but having it not work is strong indication of an installation problem. You can reinstall Money without loosing your old data. Assuming sample.mny worked, I would locate your latest backup that preceded the problem and double-click that in Windows Explorer. Instead of taking the default location, I would browse into the My Documents folder and select a new name for the file. If that restored file works well, I would declare victory and start using that file as my main file. If not, I would run salv.exe, which you will find in your Money 2004 install. http://www.bollar.org/msmoney/#Q104 addresses many of these things. |

| After downloading statements, money not only doesn't show the transactions, but immediately shuts the application down. I have recently upgraded and am extremely frustrated. |
