Dick, you need to look at the original message. Ignore the trolls lurking in every thread, because they have distracted you

My original inquiry was about QUICKEN 2001 -- NOT 2004

This was stated as clear as day, and it was only because of the urge to sound like smart alecks that these clowns jumped in with replies that demonstrate no knowledge of the product OR of basic literacy.

Your reply is at least informative on a different topic, however -- because Joe Average (or the Dude) would not know the order in which those two products hit the street, especially when both of them were probably developed in *2002*! IF, I repeat IF I were trying to import in one direction or the other, then the true generational age of "2004" for one product versus the other would indeed be good to know. I'll keep it in mind for the future

Meanwhile, the more these software companies try to one-up each other, the further they get away from actually taking care of you and me.

And when they fail to do so, PEOPLE SHOULD YELL ABOUT IT REALLY LOUDLY. Like, when Microsoft (or anybody else) puts its system requirements (and the limitations of its import abilities) on the box in a font that LITERALLY requires magnification to read clearly. I've read pharmaceutical label side-effect warnings that came in bigger typefaces than that, and that is really saying something

And it explains why those "read the box" replies are particularly vexsome, to put it kindly

Thanks for your message

Somebody get a ruler and measure the typeface on that box,
where all the limitations are noted. I bet it is no bigger
than a 4 point font. So those of you who keep referring
innocent questions back to "What the box says" should note
that ELSEWHERE on the same package, the supposed ease of
using Quicken data -- without disclaimers of any kind --
is printed in a much bigger typeface.

That's a limitation.

You can continue to use TurboTax.

What you do with stock trading and what it costs is up to your
broker. Many brokers provide download of activity to Quicken, Money,
or both. If you choose your broker first, you might ask customer
service at your broker which works best with them.

I would use separate files for each. In Money, do File-> New to
create a new file. Clicking File will give a list of recently used
Money files at the bottom of the list as one way to switch to a
particular file.
