| Hi Doug It sounds like "corruption" and if the Salv tools didn't work you might be in trouble. Did you try running "msmoney.exe -s" without the quotes from the run command? If that doesn't work, try restoring your "old" diskette backup and in the future use a different disk for each day of the week. I backup to both diskette (different disk each day labeled Mon, Tues, Wed etc. I also back up to my hard drive and at the end of the Name of my backup file I add 021304 (the date of the backup) and change the number each day so I have plenty of backups to choose from. Believe me when I say that many times I would have one backup corrupted as well as the main file but with my backups methods I could usually find one that worked. Money is a nice program but in my opinion not very stable and you CANNOT over backup. | M2004 all of a sudden started acting up. I try to open the program. After the password screen( or the first screen if I delete the password option) I get a pop up box stating the above subject. I click ok and the program opens and works with no apparent problems. If I click more info I get the following: Details Product: Money ID: 34 Source: mnyob99 Version: 12.0 Symbolic Name: errUnknown Message: This operation cannot be performed. Explanation Usually caused by a corrupt file. User Action Run the Money File Repair tool to fix the problem. I have run both the quick repair and the standard repair all with no luck. I have tried restoring from the backup, with no different result. I haven't tried the diskette version as that is 1 week old and I don't want to get the same results and still have to reenter data. Any ideas??? Thanks Doug |
