| Who knows. But even one minute reading postings would reveal that this problem is by no means limited to M97. | Actually, Bob I believe they thought I received enough on my purchase about a day after the '98 version came out. Why you may ask would I want to stick to the '97 vesion here seven years later? The answer is speed and file size. I have about 30 accounts and all transaction data between 1993 and today in a file that will still backup on floppies. Try that with Money 2004. love John - quote - > -----Original Message----- > Juan > After 7 years maybe they thought you received enough on your original $15 > purchase > Money97????????????????????????? > C'mon > Bob > "Juan" <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:f39401c3f193$ea7c3140$a001280a[at]phx.gbl... > > Well, Dick you give no specifics, but since you seem to > > be the expert here why not let us all in on the secret? > > Why all of a sudden does Money 97 no longer connect to > > download quotes? | Well, Dick you give no specifics, but since you seem to be the expert here why not let us all in on the secret? Why all of a sudden does Money 97 no longer connect to download quotes? Could it be that somebody turned off a switch to get us to downgrade to the new version? - quote - > -----Original Message----- > At least one of your facts is wrong, and you clearly are not a careful > shopper, so I wonder about the whole rest of your analysis. > Anyway, have fun with Quicken and/or gnucash. | At least one of your facts is wrong, and you clearly are not a careful shopper, so I wonder about the whole rest of your analysis. Anyway, have fun with Quicken and/or gnucash. Have you read up on the gnucash development "malaise?" Oh, and another p.s., do you understand the terms of Quicken's quotes download service? | I'm guessing that Microsoft has decided in their corporate wisdom to cut us Money 97 users off. But I've got a work around solution. Oh, yes. I went to Comp USA to buy a new version (Money 2004 deluxe --$60 no less)and you know --- the Standard version won't download quotes, and the $90 "Premium" version will only let you download quotes for 3 years! Phooey. I got the 2002 version of Quicken, and while I think Intuit stinks it still doesn't stink as bad as Microsoft Money!!!! Also - the new free version of Fedora Core 1 operating system from Red Hat Linux includes the latest version of Gnucash. And it does it all for free. |
