| It might be a way of enforcing advances. Perhaps by placing a limit on downloads, programmers at the bank won't be worrying about backwards compatibility with Money '03 10 years from now. As it is, I feel like my downloads aren't as "advanced" as they could be and I blame this on the fact that the banks have to program for Money 98 users... One bank has even gone to a "Pre-Money 99" and "Money 99 or later" option... But yes, it's probably also a way to force upgrades and get more $ :P "Chris Martin" <cmartin[at]bitwise.com> wrote in message news:041301c35218$4edc9ec0$a101280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > Is this there way of forcing an upgrade every 3 years? > Chris > > -----Original Message----- > > The EULA would make you think not. | The EULA would make you think not. The corresponding paragraph says: Money 2003 Deluxe/Business Online Quotes and Roaming features expire the earlier of three (3) years after your activation of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT or September 1, 2006. No mention of downloading transactions from your financial institution. | I was surprised to read from Microsoft's website that "... downloading transactions from your financial institution, .... expire three years from first use of Microsoft Money 2004 ...". See http://www.microsoft.com/money/info/comparison.asp I am unaware than synchronizing with a bank has an expiration time limit in Money 2003 (Deluxe), does anyone know if this is the case? |
