| You should be able to transfer your data relatively painlessly assuming you are using a US version--the new version will actually do all of the work itself. Not all users have been that lucky, though. The bigger issue might be if you have a powerful enough machine. A machine contemporary with Win98 will likely be a dog with a new version. Check the System Requirements carefully and multiply the CPU clock speed suggestion by 4 or 5. There is a trial version of M04 available at http://www.microsoft.com/money. If you go this way: a) Read and heed the information it provides about the file upgrade process. b) If you decide to buy, do not do the on-line upgrade. Go buy the CD at the store and save lots of potential hassle. "O" <mgm[at]mannapages.com> wrote in message news:cd7701c3ef65$2a272650$a101280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > Dick, Thank you for your help. | Dick, Thank you for your help. I will look into new software in the near future. Any suggestions? Will I be able to transfer my data to the new software? At this point, because I am under a time constraint, I will try to re-create the report by customizing it. Thanks - O - quote - > -----Original Message----- > See http://www.bollar.org/msmoney/#Q104. | See http://www.bollar.org/msmoney/#Q104. BTW, M98 was the single buggiest version in the history of the product. You should be thinking about some migration plan to something less buggy and less than 6 versions obsolete. | I have been using this program all week, printing out the register without a hitch. Yesterday, this error came up: This operation cannot be performed. I was going to reinstall the software and see if that helped but my CD doesn't have the reinstall software...it was installed at Dell. The way I have been viewing and running this report is: Accounts - Register - Reports - Spending habits - Account Transactions. At this point the register should pull up but instead I get the error message noted above. Any suggestions of how to fix? Thanks - "O" |
