| I've also been unable to update quotes since about February 5. I thought it was a corrupt file, so I tried reinstalling and all the other fixes I found on the website. What you say about the server changing makes sense, but before I buy new software I'd like to verify that. Is there anyway to get an official answer? Does Microsoft monitor/answer on this ng? |

| Here's an idea. The new free Fedora Core 1 software from Linux Red Hat includes the latest version of Gnucash - a Money/Quicken type financial software program which does it all. Operating system and lotsa application software are free for downloading or $20 from your local book store. And it will run on an old, slow computer. - quote - > -----Original Message----- > You're right....I checked all the 'Boards' and it looks > like you and I are the only ones using a seven year old > product. | I'm guessing that Microsoft has decided in their corporate wisdom to cut us Money 97 users off. But I've got a work around solution. Oh, yes. I went to Comp USA to buy a new version (Money 2004 deluxe --$60 no less)and you know --- the Standard version won't download quotes, and the $90 "Premium" version will only let you download quotes for 3 years! Phooey. I got the 2002 version of Quicken, and while I think Intuit stinks it still doesn't stink as bad as Microsoft Money!!!! - quote - > -----Original Message----- > I've been having the same problem. > I don't suppose anyone at Microsoft is willing to help > old-timers like us who haven't paid for an upgrade in a > while. ![]() > (to reply directly, delete the underscores in sender's > address) > > -----Original Message----- > > I have been unable to retrieve Online quotes/price > updates > > for several days now. | You're right....I checked all the 'Boards' and it looks like you and I are the only ones using a seven year old product. Of course, it has worked fine for 7 years so why why change...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Of course, now it's broke, or I should say, they have changed the IE server that it connects to so that we can't talk to it anymore. As you can guess, MS's recommendation would be to get Money2004 which, unfortunately, would not run well if at all on my P200 old and slow (and paid for) machine. Thanks for your reply...nice to know someone is there. I'll let you know if I find out anything, but I'm afraid that there have been some software updates made that are not compatible with ver. 5.0 Howard - quote - > -----Original Message----- > I've been having the same problem. | I've been having the same problem. I don't suppose anyone at Microsoft is willing to help old-timers like us who haven't paid for an upgrade in a while. ![]() (to reply directly, delete the underscores in sender's address) - quote - > -----Original Message----- > I have been unable to retrieve Online quotes/price updates > for several days now.
