Be aware that there is a bug/feature that you cannot change the
symbol of an already-created option. And you cannot reuse that
symbol for another security. If you want to experiment, you may
want to use a copy of your .mny file.

If you want to proceed, in the details, remove the existing symbol,
and rename the existing"stock" to something you will never use.
Let's suppose you choose zzzz.

Make a large dummy AddShares of the OLD "stock", dated before all
other transactions, into the account register. Use the actual
symbol that you want to use for the new option. And remember that
for quotes to work, the names are prefixed with a period. Test the
symbol before entering it into the option details at
http://moneycentral.msn.com/scripts/...e.dll?ipage=qd .
Remember you cannot change it later-- not even when your LEAPS
changes symbols to the regular symbol about 9 months before
expiration.

Go back to investment zzzz and choose View: Investment Details.
Change each transaction to the new security using the drop-down
list. Start with the oldest transaction. I would double-click the
transaction to open it for edit.

Keep going until there are no more zzzz transactions remaining,
except for the fake AddShares. At that point you can "delete"
zzzz.

Let us know if you encounter problems.

Default New Equity/Index Option

I've been using Money for a number of years and recently
upgraded to 2004 Deluxe. I found that Money now has
Equity/Index options. What's the easiest way to convert
all my old options (which are treated like stocks by
Money), also recognizing that the quantity field for
every transaction must be divided by 100?
