Then periodically, perhaps once per month or more, copy your latest backup (named differently from your earlier backups) to a CDR. With XP, this can be a copy and paste operation. Otherwise use the burning software that came with your CDR drive. I suggest use of a USB Flash drive also. They typically act like a big floppy. * This has two advantages. You can change the file name occasionally. I like to pick a name something like money030828. Then it is easy to change the name to have multiple backups. The ..mbf extension is automatic. The other advantage is that you can choose "Don't Back Up, or you change your mind about exiting by simply clicking the X in the upper right of the pop-up box. |

| Have you checked to see if Money will allow you to back up to the WinXP burner directory as a hard disk? Barring that, backup to hard disk, then, on exiting Money, burn that file using whatever method suits you. | My computer does not have a drive 'A'. Instead, I only have a CD (drive 'D'). I would like to back up my Money files to a CD, but Microsoft Money does not give me that option. The only option available is backup to drive 'A'. I am running Money (standard) 2003 on Windows XP. I could use some ideas. |
