| This happens to me too, and has now through three versions of money! It is not simply a case of double counting payments the first month (as is suggested in the "Solution!" listed below... we did a debt reduction scenario and it showed the entire debt being paid off in one month ($7000. with a monthly allocation for debt of $800.) Check out the example on the Money 2004 home page link "Learn More About Money". The on-line users guide (chapter 16)shows a debt of $2328. being paid off with a monthly allocation of $100. in eight days! (Figure F-4). Does no one at Microsoft use this feature, or proof their own error-filled web based help? - quote - > -----Original Message----- > > -----Original Message----- > > I am trying to set up my debt reduction and even when I > > give it a max payment per month it wants to pay my > credit > > balance off in the first month. Money is double-counting your monthly debt payments for the first month. To resolve: 1) Go to the page where you can include/exclude accounts from the planner 2) For each account, look at the "Next Payment Date" column 3) If the date falls within the current month, go down to "Edit Debt Info..." and change the 'next payment date' to the following month 4) Clicking OK may bring up a dialog box saying that money will assume that you have paid the current month's portion of debt -- that's good (now it won't double-count) |

| I am trying to set up my debt reduction and even when I give it a max payment per month it wants to pay my credit balance off in the first month. I am using 2004. Seems I did this before in 2003 and didn't have this problem. Is there something I am forgetting to set. I do not have the account info to pay bal each period. |
