just to keep it interesting...
i've got dual monitors on my 9700pro as well. however,
there is a combination of things that make it break. i
am running norton anti-virus 2004. if i uninstall it,
money still works with two monitors. if i have it
installed, it will only work with one monitor. what
brand and version of anti-virus are you using?

Out of curiosity, does Money freeze if you have the two monitors and
turn down hardware acceleration?

On a blank spot on the desktop, right click and choose
Properties-> Settings-> Advanced-> Troubleshoot and slide the
Hardware Acceleration slider to the left. If it helps, consider
different display driver.

I just determined what was causing my particular problem - the fact that I
had a second monitor enabled. I've got a Radeon 9800 that I ocassionally
use a second monitor with. Sounds wierd, but it is 100% reproducable. With
second monitor enabled - Money freezes when performing a manual update.
Without second monitor enabled - smooth sailing.

Default Money 2004 freezes when instructed to connect to Internet

same problem. it happens 75% of the time when i try to
download statements, 100% of the time when i try to make
an electronic payment. just like you if i install it on
my win2k work laptop, it works fine. the problem began
with version 2003. i figured it was a good excuse to
update, so i bought 2004. same problem. unfortunately,
i'm not supposed to use my laptop for personal business.
so here is what i have on the bad machine. do we have
anything in common?
custom machine
p4 2.53ghz
radeon 9700pro
sound blaster live
winxp pro

some things i remember doing between the time it worked
and the time it didn't (almost 3 weeks)

upgraded to norton anti-virus 2004 (uninstalling it
didn't fix)
added an ati tv wonder ve with required software
updated video card drivers
several microsoft os updates

Yes.
Besides, the same file runs fine on another computer.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for your help...

Have you tried to repair your money file? Close Money
and then from the Start button, click run, then type
msmoney.exe -s and press enter.

Default Money 2004 freezes when instructed to connect to Internet

Money 2004 will download updates and quotes and bank data
automatically on the schedule I gave it.
However, when I try to "Get online Statements" from the
"Common Tasks" menu it opens the Call Progress dialog and
freezes.
I have tried to reinstall the program - same thing.
I have reformatted the hard drive (for other reasons) and
installed Money 2004 first. It worked fine for a few days
and then returned to the freezing behavior. I cannot tell
which program that I installed later was responsible (if
any) but I do not have any exotic programs (Mostly MS
Office stuff).

Microsoft Tech-support are very friendly but useless.
Any ideas?
