| just to keep it interesting... i've got dual monitors on my 9700pro as well. however, there is a combination of things that make it break. i am running norton anti-virus 2004. if i uninstall it, money still works with two monitors. if i have it installed, it will only work with one monitor. what brand and version of anti-virus are you using? - quote - > -----Original Message----- > In microsoft.public.money, Steve Kushubar wrote: > > Yes it does. > Dang. On a blank spot on the desktop, right click and choose Properties-> Settings-> Advanced-> Troubleshoot and slide the Hardware Acceleration slider to the left. | I just determined what was causing my particular problem - the fact that I had a second monitor enabled. I've got a Radeon 9800 that I ocassionally use a second monitor with. Sounds wierd, but it is 100% reproducable. With second monitor enabled - Money freezes when performing a manual update. Without second monitor enabled - smooth sailing. | Have you tried to repair your money file? Close Money and then from the Start button, click run, then type msmoney.exe -s and press enter. - quote - > -----Original Message----- > Money 2004 will download updates and quotes and bank data > automatically on the schedule I gave it. > However, when I try to "Get online Statements" from the > "Common Tasks" menu it opens the Call Progress dialog and > freezes. > I have tried to reinstall the program - same thing. > I have reformatted the hard drive (for other reasons) and > installed Money 2004 first. | Money 2004 will download updates and quotes and bank data automatically on the schedule I gave it. However, when I try to "Get online Statements" from the "Common Tasks" menu it opens the Call Progress dialog and freezes. I have tried to reinstall the program - same thing. I have reformatted the hard drive (for other reasons) and installed Money 2004 first. It worked fine for a few days and then returned to the freezing behavior. I cannot tell which program that I installed later was responsible (if any) but I do not have any exotic programs (Mostly MS Office stuff). Microsoft Tech-support are very friendly but useless. Any ideas? |
