You get a "conversion fails" error message"?> to convert the original file to money04 file...this file > conversion fails... > I've uninstalled both programs, placed my 99 file in the > target directory, reloaded Money04, and then I did as you > requested...the conversion fails. > I know that the file is good. I guess I would try the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;310560 for selective startup or clean boot if using XP, or I would try converting from safe mode if using Windows 98. |

I would then browse to the existing *.mny file. and double click it in Windows Explorer. That should open Money and start the conversion. Same error then? - quote - > > -----Original Message----- > > In microsoft.public.money, > <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> > wrote: > > > > everytime i attempt to convert my money99 file to > > > money04, it fails. | I get this message: Money cannot locate '%1' or cannot open it, possibly because it is a read-only file or you do not have permission to change it or your disk drive is write protected. If you have chosen the correct file and it cannot be accessed, you will need to click OK and open your most recent backup file. If the file is being used by another application, close it in the other application and click OK to try again. - quote - > -----Original Message----- > In microsoft.public.money, <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > everytime i attempt to convert my money99 file to > > money04, it fails.
