Default can't remove ticker symbol - help

I deleted a security from Money and then tried to use the
ticker symbol I used with the deleted security on a NEW
security entry. I get the error msg that that symbol is
already in use, even though I deleted the security for
which I had previously used that symbol. I read on MS
Knowledge Base article 268030 that I should have removed
the symbol before deleting the security, but of course
that advice is too late for me. Anyone know of any way
to remove a ticker symbol from Money's "memory" when you
have already deleted the security that symbol was
assciated with?
