Default Re: Money 2004 - Problems downloading Australian stock prices?

Dear Cal

In my case it helped. I use Money Standard Intl. 2004, XP Intl. English,
Norton Internet Security 2004. All MS and Symantec Upgrades have been made
up to today.

So at least the last three updates were successful. Hope it remains as this.

Installing will not put records on an MS site as long as you choose
My Computer when asked.

US quotes work for me with Money 2004, XP and Kerio 2.x.x.

These links did not help!

When I tried them I got different prompts than those
indicated after I hit the download button. Instead it
asked me to select an upgrade to explorer or a basic
configuration for the reporting. It seemed like it wanted
me to place my records on the ms site rather than continue
to update from my pc.

I can still get updates using the windows 2000 platform and
macafee virus protection. Using xp and norton, the thing
chokes 99% of the time.

Default Money 2004 - Problems downloading Australian stock prices?

I have the same problem, although I was unable to
download the prices acouple of time. The problem is more
significant lately.

I have tried through work and home. I am in Oregon, USA.

Could this be a problem with the recent virus going
around?

Help??

They don't generally read (or acknowledge reading, as the case may be) this

Default Could Microsoft please give a statement

I have been having the same problems with xp and norton;
even when I too disable the norton firewall. When I run
the update on my other computer which has a windows 2000
platform and Macafee protection there is no problem so it
appears to be either an xp or norton issue.

I started a thread yesterday and got someone else who used
xp and norton having this problem. This is happening with
US market downloads.

I have had the same problems (although I am after US stock
prices). Installed Money 2004 on jan 12 and only 2
succesful price updates jan 16 and jan 23. I use dialup ,
Win 2000, no firewall. I tried passport but it doesnt
help. I tried reducing quotes to download to just one and
got same error. My ISP has not changed, I can surf just
fine. Money 2003 had no problems.

Same problem here. I am located in Switzerland and using the international
version of Money 2004, which is in fact the Australian version. I have
exactly the same behavior.

Running XP and Norton Internet Security I continously opened up the firewall
with no improvement. Finally I locked the TCP ports again.

I would wish that MS places a statement of what is currently wrong with the
quote updating procedure. I worked well up to January 10th. So this seems to
be an infrastructure problem with them and not a configuration issue with
the client side of Money running on our PCs'.

By the way I am using a Passport to login.

Default Money 2004 - Problems downloading Australian stock prices?

Are any other Australian users of Money 2004 having problems getting
downloads of stock prices? For the last three weeks I've been clicking
on the "Update Prices" link when I log on each night. Then I'd sit
there, fat, dumb and happy, believing that the "Call Completed"
message signified that all was well. That was until I noticed that the
prices didn't seem to be moving much, and by looking at the Update
Manually dialog I found that the prices had in fact only updated once
each week; interestingly enough on the Friday.

The error message "Money was unable to connect to the online prices
server. Please check your Internet connection and try the operation
again" can be seen in the Call Summary. Now although I AM having a
nightmare time with my ISP and Norton Internet Security 2004, this is
happening even when everything else is still working AND if it was a
problem with IS 2004 I can't see why I'd be getting one download per
week.

Anyone else?
