| Well, I'm running out of ideas; but having a 401k as a Category instead of an account doesn't make much sense. As to transfers out of budget accounts not showing up in Income and Expense reports, I'm not surprised for any number of reasons. Transfers are neither income nor expense, nor does this report know anything about budget. Perhaps you should consider opening a support case directly with Microsoft? <egolden[at]jcpenney.com> wrote in message news:db8e01c3ef7c$b0a82aa0$a501280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > same - answers below > > -----Original Message----- > > See comments below. > > > "elise" <egolden[at]jcpenney.com> wrote in message > > news:b5dd01c3ec6b$f1545ec0$a001280a[at]phx.gbl... > > > > > I do have a 401K, but i have a category set up for it. > > > The problem is I can not identify where it thinks i > > > have 'Transfers out of budget'. | I do have a 401K, but i have a category set up for it. The problem is I can not identify where it thinks i have 'Transfers out of budget'. I have changed the credit cards settings to both include in budget and exclude in budget. If I exclude them, they show up on the budget report as 'transfers out of budget account'. This causes even my actual expense on this report to disagree with the monthly income and expense report. They budget amount on the report is still a mystery number to me - i click it, but no transactions show. If I include them (which I think I should), the actual expense on the budget report agrees with the monthly income and expense report. The budget reports shows no actuals for the 'transfers out of budget account', but there still is a mystery number in the budget column for the line. what is really strange to me, is the budget number changes. It does not match between the include and exclude version for the 'transfers out of budget accounts'. there is a difference of 293.03 and i do not even find a transaction for this amount. not sure if this helps explain the situation better, but I still have not figured out how to get the 'transfers out of budger accounts' to zero. i do not know of any other transaction types other than credit cards that would show up in there. can someone help explain what could be causing this or how i should fix it. - quote - > -----Original Message----- > Capitalization would make your post much easier to read. > Do you have a 401k that gets transfers from a paycheck? | Capitalization would make your post much easier to read. Do you have a 401k that gets transfers from a paycheck? Any other periodic investments? Either of these could be the source of the Transfer Out of Budget. A principal transfer for a loan could also be the source, IIRC. I'm not sure I understand your "real budget number to track spending against" issue. Assuming that we can track down where these are coming from and it's a valid recognition of money that is departing your budget accounts, the remainder is a real number to track your spending against. | can not get these to go away. i have marked all my credit cards as part of my budget. i itemize each expense. i categorize the payment using the credit card payment. the amounts do not seem directly linked to payments, but they might be. i just cannot figure out why they would. i need to get rid of the 'transfers out of budget' entries so i can get a real budget number to track spending against. |
