Is this normal? I don't know Ameritrade or how they handle the cash/sweep. There is, however, more than one legitimate way for this to be handled. What kind of transaction are you entering to make the correct cash balance appear? Can you look at the web site and tell what is missing in the download? - quote - > Looks like I might have to stick to manual entry for all my Vanguard

| Thanks for the info, bad news as it may be. I'm just not having good luck with electronic access in general under Money it seems. I also have an Ameritrade account. The stocks seem to work OK, but I have a small cash balance which doesn't appear anywhere in the Ameritrade acct unless I enter it manually also. Is this normal? Looks like I might have to stick to manual entry for all my Vanguard and Ameritrade accounts?! Maybe the others I have electronic access currently enabled for, too, if they have problems going forward. Ugh. I want to believe there must be something I am doing wrong, but I just can't see what. via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx(Cal Learner-- MVP) wrote in message <snip> > Vanguard has problems when using more than one account. Back in September, Sean posted this: :i was having this problem with mny 2002. i just upgraded :to 2004 and am still having the same problem. : :we have 3 accounts w/ vanguard. i have an ira. my wife :has an ira. and we have a joint regular account. :this accounts are properly linked at vanguard. that is, i :can see all 3 of these accounts from my vanguard online :login. :all three of these accounts in money are enabled for stmt :download and the account numbers are correct. :when i go through the online setup wizard, after login and :download, it correctly asks me about all three accounts :and does the right verification questions to be sure how :to match up the three accounts that vanguard is reporting :with the three accounts i already have set up in money. :in other words, vanguard appears to be properly reporting :all three accounts. :but, only the first account(my ira) ever shows any :transactions/stmt activity in read online statements. :however, if i login to vanguard from my browser and :manually download the .ofx file to my hard disk and then :double click it everything works the way its supposed to :and activity for all three of the accounts gets posted for :review under read online statements. :is this some subtle setup problem on my end? a vanguard :bug? or a money bug? is anyone else having this problem :w/ vanguard? That post seems to be missing from Google groups, but here is the follow-on: http://groups.google.com/groups?as_q...04&safe=images |

| Hi all, just purchased Money 2004 and have a few issues I'm hoping you can help with. I have a few different accounts (Roth IRA, Rollover IRA, individual investment acc't, etc) at Vanguard which I set up manually. I did this because I was having trouble with the electronic account setup. Once I manually entered the shares of each fund I owned in the different accounts, everything worked great... until today, when I did an internet update and found that 3 of my funds had paid dividends on 1/30. The problem is that the dividends did not show up in the correct account. Specifically, two of the funds are in Account A, and one is in Account B, but all 3 of the dividends showed up in Account C, even though I don't own those 3 funds in Account C. Also, I got the message about my register not matching my online statement and asking if I wanted to add them to the register. However, this totally screws up my account balances that I had manually set up as it seems to add a bunch of funds to the wrong account, etc. I hope that is clear and that someone can help me figure out what I might be doing wrong. I suppose I could manually enter all transactions going forward, but if I can get electronic access with Vanguard working correctly, it would sure save a lot of trouble! |
