I get current prices. I just checked to make sure.

I am not saying you are not having problems.

Hey Cal, yes, thats what I get too, BUT new info is not actually being updated to my portfolio by 2004. With 98 it is no problem so I have reverted to 98 for now.

Do you know the answer to my last question - where might I get the relevent .ofx file for 98?
Thanks, Arthur

Can I borrow some of your karma, please?
The moons are still not aligning here, and I could use all the fortune I can
get.

Personnell - The MS Quotes Server is down (or at least 90% disabled). They
say there is no need to fiddle with our software - the problem is with their
Server. They also say "the problem should be fixed in a day or two" (yeah
right! - "the check is in the mail", "sure I respect you honey" etc
etc!!!!). I personally suspect they are suffering some sort of DOS attack
since they also say if you try often enough, you might just get some quotes
every now and again!!!!

I just tried Money 2004 updates, and got "Your call was successful"
on both quotes and updates.

Default Downloading Quotes - The latest scoop

I have it on the authority of two official Microsoft Telephone Support Personnell - The MS Quotes Server is down (or at least 90% disabled). They say there is no need to fiddle with our software - the problem is with their Server. They also say "the problem should be fixed in a day or two" (yeah right! - "the check is in the mail", "sure I respect you honey" etc etc!!!!). I personally suspect they are suffering some sort of DOS attack since they also say if you try often enough, you might just get some quotes every now and again!!!!

So, in frustration, I un-installed 2004, and re-installed 98 (as a repair) - Lo and Behold, I was able to get stock quotes repeatedly and quickly with NO PROBLEMS AT ALL!!!!!!!! As a matter of curiosity, I'd love to know why 98 can do it and not 2004 (and 2003 by all accounts reading this newsgroup). Their story rings true - in chacking back for two weeks worth of entries to this newsgroup (took me 7 hours last night - I'm on 'steam driven' dialup services out here in the boonies. This topic rears its ugly head on 27th Jan for the first time, and thats when 'they' (MS) say the problems started. Could MyDoom have something to do with it - but then why does 98 work fine???????

Anyway, now I have another problem - I reactivated 98 on my system as a 'repair' and now I cant get my banks transactions to download!!! somewhere along the line I managed to lose the 98 .ofx file. I was directed to the relevent MS website to get it back, only to be advised it is no longer available, and to buy a later version of Money.

HELP - can anybody help me to copy/beg/borrow/steal the appropriate file - my Money98 is version 6.0. If you can, let me know on this newsgroup and I'll send/inform you of my email address for a personal contact. Thanks a million in advance, Arthur
