Looks like just renaming the old account is the easiest way to go. Thanks

Depending how you handle it, the transactions stay in the old closed
account. The last transactions in the old account would be Transfer
Out transactions to the new account.

You have the option of just renaming the old account in Money and
other information in the Account Details.

It would stay with the closed IRA account, but supposedly Money can still
figure out things like cost basis, though there have been problem reports
here on this.

If the FidInv IRA account was setup in Money as a Retirement Account, it may
already have an associated cash account. If this is the case, I'd do nothing
in Money besides change the account number in the account details as the way
it is setup in Money would end up being no different.

Default Converting Mutual Fund Acct To Brokerage Acct at Fidelity

I changed the my wife's IRA at Fidelity from a mutual fund account which
holds only mutual funds and cash to a brokerage account which also holds
stocks, bonds, etc. Fidelity handles the conversion by creating a new
brokerage account, transferring assets from the the mutual fund account
account into it, and then closing out the old account. If I handle it the
same way in M04, what happens to the historical transaction data? Does it
transfer over to the new account or stay with the closed brokerage account?
