I discoverd that the trail version of the msmoney.exe file had internal
language: English (United Kingdom). The official version is language:
English (US).

I have seen some posts about this and learned that these aren't
compatible or interchangeble.

When buying it from the online store, I never saw any reference to a
difference between UK or US version. I feel that MS should make this
more obvious on the product cover and maybe even warn about it.

Well.... I only have 1 month of transactions in it, so I think I will be
doing some typing today

I've been trying Money 2004 for 2 weeks now and I liked it. I only
wanted the standard edition, but I beleive the trail automatically is
the deluxe edition. I installed the trail on 2 systems, which share a
folder on a server and they both use the same money file, never at the
same time. All fine, works great.

Now I bought the Money 2004 deluxe edition and installed it. First it
complained about a Money version already begin present, so I removed the
trail. Then installed and install worked fine.

When I now start the official Money, I can't open the shared money file.
It asks for a password (which the trail did also) but then gives me an
error:

The password you entered was incorrect. Please try again.
You may have made a typing error are entered the password for a
different file.

On the 2nd pc I can still open the existing money file and use the same
password I am trying to use on the 1st pc.

PC nr1 (official money) has in the about box: Microsoft Money 2004
deluxe, Version 12
PC nr2 (trail money) has: Microsoft Money Trial edition, Version 12.

When starting the trial, there is a Welcome screen which has a piece in
it: The web version of the Money Standard Trial Edition.......

So now I'm confused about what to do start working with, or import my
existing money file in the official version. I only have 6 days of trial
left....
