And if I don't use it, what's it worth?

Then again, Premium has 24-months of free BillPay. The extra 12 months =
free version of Premium (after upgrade rebate) if you started with 2003's
free 12-month offer last August. If not, it's free + $72...

Default Anticlimax dept.: M04, It's Official!

M04 announced: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/030722/sftu062_1.html

After digesting all of this and the web pages at
http://www.microsoft.com/money, my summary of new relevant info:

Still open Q's: What's improved about data file backup? Does Import/Export
Contacts with Outlook apply to more than just SBE? What's improved about
register reconciliation? What's improved about upgrading/converting? (They
fixed a truckload of bugs???) What's improved about downloading transaction
data? (They made the option settings for automatic marking work?) What's
improved about tax estimator? (It paints the screen correctly?)

Interesting tidbits: expiration date specified on transaction download. (How
else to make old protocols go away?) I really like how they claimed Batch
Bill Pay as a feature added in M03. There's no corresponding claim for when
they took it out in M02. They are still calling a 166 Pentium the minimum
system. Online services now two years on standard. Free support now has an
expiration date.

For those of you who purchased M03 recently, there is no announcement of a
grace period. So, see the FAQ on the 30 DMBG and get your money back on that
copy if you are going to take the leap to M04.
