| Watch out for the lack of value provided in Gainskeeper. The 125 transactions will quickly be eaten up by your historical transactions. According to a gainskeeper support rep: "There's no way to avoid having historical trades counted against your trade limit. Users have two options: (1) Enter historical trades and have GK 'rebuild' the account, making all of the adjustments and calculations or (2) pick a starting point (say 6/30/2003), begin loading trades as of that date and GainsKeeper will will track prospectively, leaving the user to track historical activity and results elsewhere." I guess I wouldn't really need the sophisticated capabilities of GainsKeeper if I started from scratch this year now would I. - Dave "Bruce Chastain" <bchastain[at]XNOSPAMXmegsinet.net> wrote in message news:uTYZ$K$TDHA.2312[at]TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... - quote - > "Mike Vanecek" <MikeV99[at]privacy.net> wrote in message > news:hifuu-r1u.ln1[at]news.invalid.99computer... > > On the back of the box it lists a number of items for Premium under > > "Optimized Investments and Taxes." | Well, then, Deluxe it is! (I'm still holding tight waiting on more user reports and maybe a trial (or trail, as the case may be) version.) | Any capabilities of the Money application, besides links to external services. I'm talking layered things like equity and index options and lifetime planner that are in M03 Deluxe and not in Standard. This shouldn't be a hard question. Here's the amazon text [with my pessimistic parsing]: Microsoft Money Premium 2004 includes everything in Money Deluxe 2004 PLUS: NEW! Our most complete package of investment tools. Money 2004 Premium is all new and designed for investors! Get in-depth stock and investment information, including quick access to stock quotes, news, and powerful online tools to help your investments grow. [sounds like M03 deluxe with gainskeeper in the role of "powerful online tools to help your investments grow"] NEW! Sophisticated portfolio tracking. Integrated GainsKeeper provides comprehensive investment tracking and account integration. [sounds like gainskeeper again] NEW! Automated investment analysis. Robust decision-making and analysis tools help you minimize year-end taxes. "Double-down" strategy tools, asset allocation, and much more to help optimize tax-saving opportunities. [sounds like more gainskeeper] So, put yet another way, is the only difference between deluxe and premium the gainskeeper tie-in? | All indications are that the only thing separating Money04 from "official release" is for Microsoft to admit it. They're certainly shipping plenty of product. And we've all known for a long time that these stupid "market date embargos" mean less than nothing. Microsoft wants this all both ways: big splashy announcements with plenty of merch already waiting on the shelves. Retailers don't sit on inventory just to make Microsoft happy. Money 2004 is generally not a feature release but an effort to make> Quicken products and MS Money products? some of the features work better. Suite has been replaced with Premium. There are some feature additions, but not so as make your choice much clearer. Money 2004 can convert Quicken 2003 and earlier files but not Quicken 2004 files, when they exist. |

So where is the Microsoft info on this product? http://www.microsoft.com/money/default.asp only lists 2003 versions. http://shop.microsoft.com/ only shows 2003 versions http://shop.microsoft.com/special/itsnew/ only says "Coming Soon" Where can I get a list of features so I can make an informed choice between Quicken products and MS Money products?
