When Money converted your *.mny file to Money 2004, it left a copy
of the Money 2003 file named *.m11 on your hard drive. I would copy
that to a *.mny name and open that file with Money 2003. Then fill
in your missing two weeks.

let's guess...you did only one back to hard drive in 2003
before 2004? if you had backup also on diskette or cd-
rom you might still have the 2003 data.

Default Money 2004 trial uninstall

After intalling Money 2004 trial version about 2-weeks
| ago, I finally read the small print stating that data
| entered in that version won't be available in Money 2003.
| Foolishly (I think) I unintalled the 2004 version. Now
| the 2003 version cannot locate the money files. The error
| reads "Money cannot locate 'C:/documents and
| settings/victor/my documents/my money.mny' or cannot open
| it, possibly because it is a read only file or you do not
| have permission to change it, or your disk drive is write
| protected. If you have chosen the correct file and it
| cannot be accessed, you will need to click ok and open
| your most recent backup file. If the file is being used
| by another application, close it in the other application
| and clik of to try again". I have re-installed 2003,
| rebooted the computer, and tried accessing the backup
| file, all to no avail. Have I lost my information
| permanently? If so, can I even start Money 2003 anew?
| Thanks in advance for any help!
