Default Income/exenses will not transfer to taxable items

I upgraded from 2003 Standard to 2004 Deluxe last year.
Income and expenses, since upgrade, will not transfer to
taxable items account. Therefor exporting to a tax program
is worthless. I've followed there instructions to the T.
Nothing works. Any suggestions?
