Part of the problem is that it CAN be done. And there may no file
corruption sometimes.

Moving the flash card isn't as easy, but it is good method.

But perhaps the problem could be addressed by using Synchronization.
That way one computer accesses the data over the web on a Microsoft
server. Enter "synchronize" into the Ask Money box of Money 2004.

Hi

As long as you don't need to use both to access the file at once (apparently
can't be done anyway) I use a compact flash card (like in my digital camera)
for the data file & just plug it into which ever cptr I want to use. I
backup to the hard drive of the cptr so if the flash card file ever crashes
(never has yet) I can recover from the backup on the hard drive of the most
recent cptr used. This works much faster than network with data on one
cptr; been there, done that. That's when I figured out the alternative.

I've done it. It won't be fast, depending on the network. You MUST NOT have
Money trying to access the file from more than one machine at a time--this
includes Money Express and Money Side. You'd think Money would know how to
deal with this, but it doesn't.

I wouldn't use it on a network. If you need it on two computers
install it on each and use one file as a back up. That is what I
do.

Default using MS Money over a home network

Anybody out there have any experience using Money over a
network. I'd like to be able to access my money file
from 2 network computers. Every time I try to open my
money file that exists on computer A from computer B, MS
Money dies and won't respond.

Am I fighting a losing battle?

Thanks.
