| Well, then, you got what you paid us for. BTW, you might want to search the archives for this newsgroup at http://groups.google.com. You aren't the first person to show here with this issue and probably won't be the last. | Well then, I guess I'm really out of luck because your "user-to-user support" replies were not at all helpful. - quote - > -----Original Message----- > p.s., most certainly not, or they won't admit it anyway. For $69 you can buy the software that I did - GetDataBack from Runtime software (http://www.runtime.org/) and recover vital information from your crashed drive. That would be well worth the money if only to recover your financial data. As an aside: even though my actual Money files were recovered (including the backup on the drive), Money 2003, salvage and super-salvage refused to fix it. I eventually resorted to a 12-day old backup on floppy. Now I backup every 3 days (based on my frequency of Money usage), and if I do a lot of work on a particular night, I explicitly backup that day. Himanshu |

| Buy the CD from the store like normal folk? I really hate to say that, because I have nothing else to suggest, but you are one of many people each week who comes here with this complaint. I really don't understand why people think that losing the download file and the product key is any different than losing the real CD and the key label. But nobody ever shows up here complaining about the latter case. | I need help reinstalling after I had a hard drive crash. I have my MS Money backup on floppy. I downloaded the trial version and restored my backup. I assumed that it would save registration information and product id in the backup - it didn't. Now it tells me the trial is over even though I just download and installed it today. It then ends immediately. I wanted to contact MS support to have them resend me my product id, but it seems that they require the product id just to contact them. Does anybody know how to get out of this catch 22? Microsoft, are you listening? Please reply. |
