Does the sample.mny file work well for you?

If so, do you have any backups that precede the crashing?

If not, have you tried both levels of standard repair?

If unsuccessful, consider QIF export of each of your accounts.
Having the QIF files exported to disk does not mean you cannot keep
trying, but importing the QIF files to a new file may be your best
action at some point. Perhaps Microsoft might have some additional
insight if you contact them directly.

Well, the uninstall and reinstall did not work. I've tried touching the memo field of all the Bills/Deposits I have and have tried the Standard File repair to no avail. Please help.

Yeah, I'm not currently synchonizing with the web. I've tried the Standard Repair to no avail. I'll try to uninstall and reinstall Money and see what happens. I noticed that this crash is mentioned nowhere on the Microsoft support site.

I would add that if you are not currently using synchronization,
then under tools you would find "Access my Money data on the web"
instead.

If you enter "synchronize" into the Ask Money box of Help, you will
see Disable... as a help item.

Where is this unsynching option that you refer to. I looked under the Tools menu and cannot find it. I'm guessing that it's under another option under the Tools menu. I'm also assuming that you are using MSN Money on the Web. I don't use that so I'm not sure if that is affecting what I see under the Tools menu.

I just resolved my problem by unsynching the file under tools and choosing
the unsynch option. I then setup the same synching again this time with msn
money plus since I now have that option and it solved the problem. Let me
know if what I posted doesnt help.

I get same error as of last week. I have tried the standard repair but no
luck. It seems to be related to the new MSN as the problem started last
week. I synchronize my Money 2004 with what is on the web.

should I reinstall?

See if you can navigate around sample.mny. If so, consider using
File-> MoneyFile-> StandardFileRepair. If not, reinstall Money.

Default Portfolio crash

As of yesterday, whenever I click on Portfolio on the
toolbar, Money 2004 crashes with a short sound--no error
message, no report to MS, no nothing. Any ideas?
