I found a QFX file from Vanguard seemed to match OFX 1. It did load
into Money when I tried it. Good luck. Lets hope they put the payee
name into the NAME or PAYEE entry as they should.

Cal,

I go directly to my CU web site and click on the download
button for each site. The file is then auto loaded into
my Money 2002 program. The CU said that I will not be
able to use Money to download all 12 of my accounts at
once because they do not support OFX, just OFC. I think
they are going to pay the annual fee and convert to QFX
for Quicken (they said it will work on Money too). Not
sure how this will affect me.

Section 11.4.3 Statement Transaction says to use <NAME> -or-
<PAYEE> Payee aggregate, see section 12.5.2.1</PAYEE
Note: Provide NAME or PAYEE, not both

How do you download the info from your credit union? If direct, you
can start a download but when you see the Connect button, hold down
the Ctrl+Shift keys as you click Connect. You should get a *RS.txt
file in you documents folder.

OFX specs are available at http://www.ofx.net/

I called my CU and they don't know what the file type is
for Money. They will get back to me tomorrow about it.
Are you saying the OFX file shoud place the transaction
name in the appropriate field, not the memo field?

Actually I said OFX. QFX would be Quicken's modification presumably.

Would it help to reference the OFX specifications where it describes
where to place the payee name? Do you download the OFX file from the
CUs web page?

Cal,

I'm with a credit union. I've talked to them but they
know nothing about MS Money. Quicken downloads from the
credit union are in QIF format and place the date
correctly. However, Quicken will no longer be supporting
QIF and has gone to the QFX like you mentioned. My credit
union will have to pay several thousand dollars for their
vender to convert over. I hope they do as I think I'm
going to switch back to Quicken. I dont' know if its on
the banks end or something in MS Money that will place the
debit name in the proper field in MS Money, but is sounds
like you are saying it's the banks. Thanks.

OFX has a <NAME> field for a transaction. If your bank does not fill
in the Payee, Money won't get it. They may be putting the info into
the MEMO field.

Perhaps your bank would be interested in solving the problem if you
call. Stranger things have happened, but not often enough. Who is
the bank?

Default Check Register Entry Question

After downloading transactions from my bank to MS Money
2002, each transactions text data (name of company the
check or debit card was paid to, etc.) are placed in my
memo field. I then have to manually go the Name field to
enter the name of the company.

Does anyone else have this problem? How can I force Money
to import the name of the company the check or debit card
was written to, into it's proper place. Quicken has
always placed it correctly, saving me considerable time.
Thank you.
