When I back up my files I save original file and backups to the I then backup the entire folder (contains other files) to a 750MB zip disk. But Money only knows it is backing up to the c:\money directory. ------------ "It took us 15 years to McGyver this thing." -------------------------Carter on Stargate To send me e-mail exorcise NO Spam from my e-mail address. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

TIA! If you come out of money can you copy files to the Zip drive? Did you install any new software (Turbo Tax?) that may have shut off access to the zip drive? Finally did you put a zip disk in the zip drive? ------------ "It took us 15 years to McGyver this thing." -------------------------Carter on Stargate To send me e-mail exorcise NO Spam from my e-mail address. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

| I have been corresponding with Microsoft Money Online Support about backing up Money to a Zip drive and after several days and passing information back and forth Microsoft is about to give up, so I thought I come to the experts! I have been a Microsoft Money user for more than 4-years now and for most of that time I have been doing backups to Zip a drive as the removable disk drive nearly everytime I conclude a session with Money. Within the last couple of weeks Money has stopped backing up to the Zip drive, and the only drive listed in the removable drive selections is the A: floppy disk. Within those couple of weeks I changed the system configuration by removing an old Epson Scanner and installing a new Epson Scanner. The new Scanner uses USB 2.0 and even though I have six USB connectors on the backside of this computer not all of them are USB 2.0. This caused me to move practically everyone of the USB devices around until I finally had the new scanner connected to the USB 2.0 port. I believe it is during this process that I lost the ability to backup Money to the Zip drive. Since the time I lost the ability to backup Money to the Zip I have reinstalled Money 2004, and removed and reinstalled the Zip disk and Money still only lists the A: drive for removable disk backup. I suspect that something I did during moving USB devices around has caused a change in the registry that prevents Money from seeing the Zip drive even though the operating system disk manager recoginizes the Zip as removable media. I sure would appreciate any help that might point to a solution to this problem. TIA! |
