| You are not alone. I too am having ongoing trouble with Budget. I never do an autobudget, and always enter from scratch, but it never shows the dollar amounts that I have entered exactly in the Report View. In mine it either adds 4 cents or subtracts 4 cents from nearly every category, no matter what the dollar value is. With Money 3.0 I never had a single penny of discrepancy in 9 years of constant use. I want my "Money" back. I paid $50 for this inferior product last week. I did send MS this info and am waiting for response. We will see just how well they do at being responsible for and obviously flawed product that should not have been released yet. I hate getting ripped off. |

| I have the exact same problem. Recurring bills or deposits end up in the budget and if you do not put an amount for "other ..." you end up with no budget amount. If you do put in a dollar amount, you end up doubling your expense. I agree this needs to be fixed. - quote - > -----Original Message----- > I have many items showing in my budget that are showing as > 0 dollars for CURRENT MONTH Budgeted items. | I have tried that and still the problem is there. It seems like it keeps the problem in the background even if you delete the items, because your categories still hold the links together. You'd have to wipe your entire file and start fresh to fix it. But then it is not a fix, because if you change or update a value ...I think you'd run into this problem again ...it rather sucks ![]() -Chris - quote - > -----Original Message----- > What happens if you try to edit the budget items to > correct the inaccuracies? > I never use auto budget but always create a new year's > budget from scratch - sort of 'zero based' budgeting. > > -----Original Message----- > > I have many items showing in my budget that are showing > as > > 0 dollars for CURRENT MONTH Budgeted items. | I have many items showing in my budget that are showing as 0 dollars for CURRENT MONTH Budgeted items. Furthermore, I have several items in both the expenses and income categories that are MUCH higher than they should be. I believe this bug comes into play when you have a RECURRING expense or income and you then create a budget. Once the budget is created and you change or delete a RECURRING item, it appears that the Budget application looses its mind. At this point my income is over 5 times what it should be showing up as in my budget???? My mortgage line item is more than double what it should be. It only makes the problem worse when you try to delete the recurring bill and re-add it. I even tried removing it entirely from my recurring bills and just adding them manually. It still has the same problem. Something in Budget is not being cleared out properly or updated properly? Please fix this Mr & Mrs Microsoft. I hate to ditch the entire Money 2004 product just because of the Budget feature, but let's face it... it is what I bought the product for in the first place! -Man I can't believe they didn't catch this bug earlier! Thanks, -Chris |
