Default Re: Setting Up Retirement Accounts That Vest

Money provides no support for 401k vesting--you could fake it with two
investment accounts, one vested and one not, with periodic transfers from
one to the other.

I think you've pretty much identified the two choices for setting up a
pension account--unless it's portable, I'd probably not mess with it.

Default Setting Up Retirement Accounts That Vest

I have a 401K and a pension that I'm trying to add to
Money. The amounts that I contribute are easy enough.
How can I show the vesting schedule for the employer
matched portion for these? The "Employee Stock Option"
feature had this, but how can I do this for these account
types?

Also, I'm using a regular "Savings" account for the
pension, since all the other Retirement accounts seem to
be investment based. Is there a better way to enter the
pension? There are only contributions and interest
transactions, no securities purchases or similar.

I suppose one way to cheat it would be to set up a $1
dummy stock and treat it like a Stock Option plan, but
that would hardly be intuitive...

I'm using MS Money Deluxe 2004

Replies here and by email are fine.

Thanks - John
