Thanks but I had already reduced to 10 MB. Actually now I have the I had to delete two Yahoo plug-ins: one was Yahoo audio conferencing and the other was Yahoo chat. I'm not sure which of the two was the offending culprit as I deleted them both at the same time. But ever since, MS Money 2004 is working flawlessly. |

While I am not confident it will help, you might try reducing your> uninstalled all browser plug-ins to IE6. | Over the past week I have spent up to 4 hours on the telephone with MS tech support to resolve the same problem. They're competent and helpful but this problem is beyond the Level 2 rep's awareness. After searching these boards and testing every suggestion I could find, Money 2004 still wouldn't update quotes nor download Money updates, though it would receive bank updates. I finally stumbled into something that has me now up and limping. I uninstalled all browser plug-ins to IE6. Once all are uninstalled, go to Internet Options/General; from there, Delete Cookies, Delete Files and Clear History (just to be on the safe side.) Make sure IE6 is your system's default browser and check to be sure that Money 2004 is using your system's default browser (Tools/Options/Connection/Always use system default browser.) Now try a download with Money. This worked for me. However, the next time I'd try, I'd get the same old errors. Bottom line: the reason I say I am up and limping is that to now receive quote updates, I must delete the Internet Temp Files in IE6 first. MS could not tell me why nor suggest a fix. But, it's at least a workaround until something better comes along. FWIW,I can set Mozilla 1.5 as the system default browser and experience the same set of symptoms. By clearing the cache, I get a successful download once. At least with IE6 you can set the option to empty temp internet files each time the browser is closed (Properties/Advanced/Empty Temp Internet Filess...) so it should allow an update without manually clearing it provided you haven't surfed first. If I weren't so sick and tired of trying to figure this one out, I'd begin to look at IE's Prpoerties/General/Temporary Internet Files/Settings/View Objects. I suspect there is some object (Yahoo Chat? Shockwave? Who knows?) that's at the heart of this. I'll have more time to dig into it in a few days. If you find something at the root of your system's difficulty, please post it. I hope this helps. Good luck, Blue D.
