I'm still fighting with this problem which was inherited from a
Quicken 2003 conversion. Anyway...what I discovered is that before
you can enter the splits you must change the Category in the Edit
Transaction view to Loan Payment : <Your Loan Name> . Now you can
enter the splits as follows -

Principal Transfer : <Your Loan NameLoan : Mortgage Interest => this may be different based on your
categories.

Try typing it out. Sometimes the drop-downs "helpfully" omit legal choices.
You can always type them in.

Are you trying to assign the "part of the payment to the loan" using the
special category Loan Payment:[name of loan acct]???

Default Bank transaction can't be split properly

A mortgage payment is downloaded from the bank into Money
2004 Deluxe as one transaction. When I try to split it
into the principle and interest the loan account is not
showing up on the list of accounts so I can't assign part
of the payment to the loan.
