I agree about the confusion, but with the cost of dispelling the doubt
sitting at about $10, I can't see why anybody would defer.

Cal,

I have no reason to doubt your experience and report of capabilities. If
you wonder what the source of the "myth" that Standard does not support
investment tracking , see the official MS feature comparison chart often
cited in this NG http://www.microsoft.com/money/info/comparison.asp

To my simple eyes, it sure looks like Standard edition offers no services
under the heading Manage Your Investments.

Given the number of questions of late on the subject in this NG, I might
guess I am not the only one confused.

too bad confusion reigns. Only doubt and deferred upgrade purchases result.

That is a myth.

Standard does not have some automated handling of spin-offs for
stocks as Deluxe, but does track buys, sells, splits, etc. It
generates the reports of your capital gains, and can present the
schedule D information in a form for use by TaxCut and TurboTax.

Default Standard v. Deluxe

I am a long-time Money user. I have always used the Standard Edition. I am
now ready to upgrade to 2004 and it looks like the standard version no
longer supports investment tracking, as prior standard editions have. Am I
missing something here or am I correct that Microsoft found a way to force
standard users to upgrade to the deluxe version?

Has anyone gone from Money standard 2001/2002/2003 to standard 2004 and lost
functionality?

If I am correct, then I will hold onto my current standard version!

Thanks for your thoughts.
