Default Re: Same "ghost" Problem

I had problems with Ghosts myself.

Some were related to setting up a chunk of budget data
for a new year. I changed some names/descriptions and
eliminated others only to find that my balances were off.
Going to a backup copy and redoing my work with more care
to what I wanted, worked.

Another time I had corruption from a failed system, of
which I had to reformat my hard drive 6 tiles between Jan
and June when I had the WIN-ME software. In this case,
finding the problem was only half the solution; dumping
the bad data was a trick since the program said it
existed for inclusion and it didn't exist for deletion.

Hope this helps,
Ed

Have you tried the corruption drill described in
http://www.bollar.org/msmoney/#Q104? What version are you running? I'd
never claim the Budget planner is a great piece of work, but your
descriptions do not match my experiences with it.

Money is designed for this to work this way. The only way to remedy the
situation would be to set up an entirely new file (not just a budget), and
to bascially not use the recurring Bills/Deposits function.

Default Same "ghost" Problem

I am having the exact same problem as the original poster, and this absolutely sucks. The reason I searched for these boards was to post this problem, and I am so glad to see that I am not alone.

Since I have now set up and deleted my paycheck occurrence three different times.....I now have three ghost deposits (and corresponding transactions) that show up - even in a NEW (and BLANK) Budget. There is NO WAY that Money is designed for this to work this way. The only way to remedy the situation would be to set up an entirely new file (not just a budget), and to bascially not use the recurring Bills/Deposits function.
