| ****Thank You Cal for your help. I have tried to follow the instructions exactly and now can at least save to my hard drive on the same computer as the one that Money is loaded on. I am prefacing my comments with **** to make it easier for you to follow and possibly help me to sort out the rest of the problems. - quote - > -----Original Message----- > In microsoft.public.money, Sally K wrote: > > I have been using Money, various versions, for several > > years and recently began to have some problems getting my > > transaction histories online. When I try to open the ofc file, nothing happens in money but I can now choose to save it without going to another machine. I don't know why it won't import directly but this is much better than before. If I click on download from inside Money it directs IE to an old address for my bank (I've tried to change this about a dozen times. It must be embedded somewhere I can't find. Oh well!! )Thank you for your help. If you should happen to know what the black is I'd love to try to get this fixed. Thanks. Sally K - quote - > . |

Tools-> InternetOptions-> DoNotSaveEncryptedPagesToDisk is unchecked. Then go to Start-> Settings-> ControlPanel-> FolderOptions-> FileTypes Click Edit. I would check Confirm Open After Download to give you the choice to save the file on your machine. If things go ideally you will have the choice to Save or Open (to Money). Then you can at least cut the other machine out of the picture. Content type should be "text/ofc". Default extension should be ".ofc". See that the "Actions" box contains "Open". I would check the Always Show Extension, but you may choose not to. When you click edit the application should be "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money\System\mnyimprt.exe" %1 WITH the quotes-- unlike the others. Adjust that path to the actual install folder your Money installation. |

| I have been using Money, various versions, for several years and recently began to have some problems getting my transaction histories online. In the past I went to my bank site and saved a ofc file for each of my accounts and Money would immediately import it into the proper account. While using Money 99 it began that I would try to save the file and a window would flash on the screen, as it did in the past, but nothing was imported. I have recently upgraded to Money 2004 and hoped that the problem was that my program was outdated, but, of course I was wrong. The only way I can get my history information is to go to a machine that does NOT have money installed and only then can I save the ofc files to a disk from which I can import into Money 2004. It still finds the proper accounts when I do this. What am I missing here? Why can't I simply import the information directly? Or at least save it to the hard drive and then bring it in? Is there a registry change I need to make? I'm running WinXP Pro and Money 2004. very frusrated here--dan't really want to go back to Quicken. Thanks for any help. Sally K |
