Default Re: Debt Reduction Planner - write it off?

Well.. More specifically, here's what's going on...

First off, the top slider is supposed to represent minimum payments
plus whatever extra I put towards debt reduction, correct? The bottom
slider represents a large, one time payment that I might make at bonus
or tax return time, right? (By the way, could MS have thought of a
clumsier way to enter two numbers?)

I have two vehicle loans and a credit card that I'm including in my
DRP. Minimum payments on the vehicle loans total about $400. The
minumum on the card is 1% of the balance (roughly $50). If I
understand things correctly, the top slider should be at a minumum of
$450, and I should be able to add however much of my surplus that I
want to throw at these debts - say an additional $500/month. The
slider would then be set at $950/month for debt reduction and my
budget would reflect $270 on one vehicle loan, $130 on the other, $50
for mininum on my CC, and an additional $500 for accelerated debt
reduction.

The problem I'm having is that the top slider says that it needs to be
at a minimum of $777. I have no idea where this number comes from.
Until I know what that number is, I really don't trust the DRP at all.

I'm also having some weird stuff go on with my budget, but that's
another post...

Default Debt Reduction Planner - write it off?

I just got my reply from MS. It actually worked.

seems like several people are having weird problems like
me. I'm getting the impression that I should just write
off the DRP as a as a bad idea gone worse... am I correct?

This would be a great excuse of MS actually included an
instruction manual on how to use it so that you don't get
these problems. By the time the problems crop up, it's
too late to fix them.

I've complained to MS and have yet to hear from them.
This is completely frustrating. I had this problem with
Money 2000. When I bought Money 2004, I had hoped they
had fixed the issue. So much for hoping.

I've been trying to get my DRP and budget all working together nicely, but the thing just doesn't seem to work out. I did a search for DRP related info here, and it seems like several people are having weird problems like me.
