| Here's how I do it: Set up two accounts: (1) American Express Card, and (2) American Express Sign & Travel. The payment out of your checking account is a "split" with a transfer to "American Express Card" and transfer to "American Express Sign & Travel". Make sure the financial institution that you're using for American Express online services is "American Express Sign & Travel". (NOTE: There may be more than one choice for American Express). Because you use the same account number for both accounts, I believe that you add another digit to the account number for each ('1' for the regular card, '2' for the S&T). This may happen automatically for you when you're setting up or modifying your online services using Online Services Manager, I can't recall for sure. This approach has worked for me for years. Good luck. | My American Express card has a 'Sign and Travel' account feature where it acts like two credit cards: one is the regular AMEX for all transactions except travel related expenses which go on to something more like a regular credit card. The number is the same, the statement is the same. The issue is that when I make payments, AMEX splits the payment up: if I owe $1000 for each of the two parts and make the full $2000 payment, AMEX shows two $1000 payments. The problem with Microsoft Money is that it keeps downloading the two payments and I can't reconcile them to the single transfer I made from my checking account. I have to delete or void the downloaded transactions, but they always redownload several times. Is there any way to either make it reconcile right or stop the redownloads? Tod |
