That is one of the perfectly acceptable ways to handle the situation. Just let the cash transactions balance represent the money market funds. Here is how that method is described in the OFX spec: :13.5.2 Sweep Account Within an Investment Account :OFX uses the money market as a “sweep” account, where cash is “swept” as needed when buying and :selling securities. The money market fund does not have its own account number. The customer sees the :money market fund as an investment-account cash balance. In OFX, checks, ATMs, electronic fund :transfer, deposit, and withdrawal transactions should be downloaded using banking transactions within the :investment account. However, the sweep transactions in and out of the money market fund should not be :downloaded to the client. - quote - > Is there an automatic way for Money to do this? Is it the "Reinvest

| I have an investment account with a major investment firm. According to my statements, monthly money market dividends are deposited into a cash account and almost immediately swept into a money market. Money 2004 downloads dividends as "Investment Income : Dividends" deposits into my cash account. I have to manually create "Buy" transactions accompanying each dividend deposit to show the purchase of additional money market shares. Is there an automatic way for Money to do this? Is it the "Reinvest Dividend" option? If so, how would I account for when a dividend and deposited funds are coincidentally deposited into the cash account and swept into the money market at the same time? (It happens.) Aren Cambre |
