Default Re: Scheduled Bills & Deposits, MSN Bill Pay, e-Bills

Do not set it up as an epay in bills if you are actually paying it via MSN
Billpay (on MSN Money). Other than that, your clarification was correct.
As a side-note, this seems to work alot better in what I've seen so far in
04, so you don't have to enter the bill first.

Just to clarify, are you suggesting this: 1. Pay e-Bill in MSN Bill Pay
(thus avoiding a 'missed e-bill' status on the e-Bill), and 2. Close out
the bill in scheduled bills/deposits? (note that I did not say Enter into
Register nor Pay Online). That means you have to make two entries (MSN
Bill Pay and M03's Bills/Deposits).

I am hoping to find out that M03 is more intelligently integrated into MSN
Bill Pay than this.

I'm also missing a big piece of all this, and I suspect this is the very
heart of my problem: Somehow M03 set the scheduled bill in Scheduled
Bills/Deposits to payment method of Electronic Payment (Epay). In so doing
the usual command button 'Enter into Register...' changes to 'Pay
Online...'. So when I click the pay online button, M03 tries to do an
Epay, which is all well and good, but the eBill in MSN Bill Pay never gets
set to paid (or sent or whatever the status is when a bill is paid). I
then have an eBill in MSN Bill Pay whose status will indicate it was not
paid (skipped eBills). The big piece I'm missing is that I can't figure
how, or if, M03 works with eBills in MSN BP.

No matter how many ways I try to do this it seems I always have to do dual
data entry (dual maintenance) -- either pay the eBill in MSN BP AND enter
the bill into the register in M03, or click 'pay online' in M03 AND then
click to skip the eBill in MSN BP, or pay the eBill in MSN BP AND hope the
downloaded transaction entry figures out it's a payment for a scheduled
bill/deposit so I don't have to clean it up.

I'd of course prefer to make it all work seamlessly together: Pay the eBill
in MSN BP, and it all flows through to M03 correctly without any manual
intervention.

Default Scheduled Bills & Deposits, MSN Bill Pay, e-Bills

I can't figure out how to get M03 to recognize a scheduled bill (setup in
Scheduled Bills & Deposits), as being paid when I have the bill setup as an
e-bill in MSN Bill Pay, and I pay the e-Bill in MSN Bill Pay (i.e., I don't
do click 'Enter into Regiater...' in Money, but rather I click Pay in MSN
Bill Payment Center).

The payment entry from MSN Bill Pay appears in M03 in the correct bank
checking account within a few minutes of clicking 'Pay' in Bill Pay, but I
have to manually 'skip this occurance' in the Scheduled Bills & Deposits
screens to fool M03 into thinking I make the payment.

Any ideas?
