| "Most likely won't" should be read "absolutely won't". <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:002001c3ba16$5d076b40$a001280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > ... money 2001 most likely won't be able to read the money 2004 file... |

| True,As the previous person said, money 2001 most likely won't be able to read the money 2004 file. As for your old pc, if you have the old money 2001 cd, just uninstall 2004 and reinstall 2001. It may also be located on a recovery cd and that will be alot more tricky if you never have used it before. As for your new pc, if it came with money 2004, there is no way of installing money 2001 on it (unless you actually bought the retail version) for the fact that the one on your old pc most likely is and OEM version and is non-transferable b/t 2 pc's. |

| Hi Harry I don't really think any software is capable of finding the mistake for you. That is something you will have to do yourself or make an adjustment. If you want to try 2004, then keep 2001 up to date if you are thinking about going back, as once the file is converted to M2004, M2001 will not be able to read it. | Got a new PC with Money 2004 installed. Have been using Money 2001 on existing machine, which has been very satisfactory except reconciling the checkbook register has been impossible due to an old error that cannot be located. 1) Does 2004 make reconciling "easier" (i.e. "possible") for this kind of problem? 2) If 2004 doesn't improve things, would I be able to revert back to 2001... and use it on both PCs? TIA |
