| If you want to point something out to MS, there are much better ways than posting in this newsgroup. (Of course, 1,000,000 times 0 is still 0.) I don't think they think it's broken, BTW. If you really want to convince them it's broken, hit 'em where they live: open a support case directly with them. I don't think anybody flamed you. <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0c8701c3bac8$75b35b60$a001280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > Well, I didn't post to get into a conflict. | Well, I didn't post to get into a conflict. I posted to point out to MS that they need to be aware that a feature available in their software doesn't work the way it should. Maybe no one else cares about shoving a ton of floppies in a computer to do a backup, but I do, and since it's my money I spent on Microsoft Money I expect it to work. Those of you who have negative comments towards me, have fun stuffing floppies in your boxes and flaming. Blah, blah, blah, I guess you are bored. To those of you helping to get the point across to MS that their software is broken - Thank you! - quote - > -----Original Message----- > Yah, and I'm one of relatively few people here dealing with a 46.4MB Money > file--and I'd never say I'm doing so because archiving doesn't work. | Yah, and I'm one of relatively few people here dealing with a 46.4MB Money file--and I'd never say I'm doing so because archiving doesn't work. I'm doing so because Money isn't particularly space efficient in its storage. But what's to deal with? Except for the weekly backup to floppy, I see next to no difference in my Money file being 46MB or 4.6MB or 460MB. Disk and removable media capacity continues to be larger and grow faster than my Money file. | No, typically not. This is a forum for user-to-user interaction not Microsoft to user or, worse, user to Microsoft. "Bill Libert" <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0c4901c3b87f$23f768c0$a001280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > MICROSOFT, ARE YOU READING THESE POSTINGS??? |

| Well, I guess I should have looked at this newsgroup prior to trying to archive two years worth of data out of my Money 2004 file. What a disaster that turned out to be. It took me two days to fix the problems this caused. This is ridiculous, there are postings on this same topic in this newgroup and people are claiming they are having to deal with 45mb Money files because archiving doesn't work. MICROSOFT, ARE YOU READING THESE POSTINGS??? What is up with archiving? I don't want to deal with a 10, 20, or 30mb files. I ran through the archiving function and it trashed my ending balances so the next time I balanced my checkbook it was so far off there was no working through it to fix it. I basically ended up recreating two years worth of data. Can you tell I am not happy? Microsoft KB article 76145 claims that after archiving with MS Money 2004, ending balances are corrected so that future attempts to balance work correctly. Well, I am using Money 2004 and archiving just plain does not work. An explanation from Microsoft to all that have posted on this topic is in order. Do you think we will get help? Regards, Bill |
