Money files are version-specific and are not backward compatible. I.e., an
M2K file has to be upgraded to the M04 format to be used by M04 to used by
M04. M04 can do this. Once upgraded, the file will no longer work in M2K.
And there is no Save As option to downgrade the format. There are some users
who have problems upgrading. You cannot upgrade across localizations. (E.g.,
no M2K US to M04 UK.)

Basically, money2000 has the ability to corrupt its own files. It can still read them but a newer version of money cannot import it.
