| This sounds like you should reset XP's file permissions. When you created the file, only you may have had read/write permissions on it. The file's permissions are inherited from the folder it is created in. Copying it to a shared folder didn't change the permissions. If your wife is getting Money's "Cannot open file" message, then this is probably the issue. Here's what to do: 1. Log in as yourself (the user that created the file). 2. Use the file explorer to find the Money file in the shared folder. 3. Right-click on the file and choose "Properties" from the menu. 4. Choose the Security tab. 5. Verify that both users have read/write privileges on the file. 6. If not, use the Add button to fix. -Russ Paul-Jones MSN Money "ronp" <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:03f501c3b854$4c797de0$a301280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > Take the money file and move it to different drive such > as a cd-rw. | Take the money file and move it to different drive such as a cd-rw. Open it from there and close it. Now move it to your shared documents folder and you can open it with any user logged in. These are the steps that I took to get the job done. - quote - > -----Original Message----- > I use Money 2002.
