| For some reason when you select Import, you need to then tell Money that this is a new or recovered account. It will allow you to select your investment account, and will actually not create a new one. - Ravi -------------------- - quote - > Thanks Cal. I read the web page you selected. This

You get "an error" message? The error is that there is a problem> appears to be on how to create a new account. What > I wanted to do was to import buy/sell data from my > broker into Money. If there is a problem with the data, you or your broker have to manually fix it. | Thanks Cal. I read the web page you selected. This appears to be on how to create a new account. What I wanted to do was to import buy/sell data from my broker into Money. When I do an import, I get an error message and none of the transactions are imported. Is there a different web page with these details? Regards, Gautam - quote - > -----Original Message----- > In microsoft.public.money, Tom G wrote: > > I am having trouble importing a qif file containing > > buy and sell data for shares. If you want to do the QIF export/import, I would follow the steps> buy and sell data for shares. Importing of the cash > portion of the investment account appears to work for > deposits and withdrawals; but not the buy/sell data. > Can someone give the best known method to do this. in http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;178830 except in the first step 4, I would suggest this: Name the files from the cash accounts associated with investment accounts alphabetically higher/later than the files from investment accounts. Starting the name of the QIF file for the investment accounts with an underscore (_) would be one way to accomplish this. Then File-> Import ALL AT ONCE using Ctrl+<click> to select files. Specify "New or Recovered" account when asked. |

| I am having trouble importing a qif file containing buy and sell data for shares. Importing of the cash portion of the investment account appears to work for deposits and withdrawals; but not the buy/sell data. Can someone give the best known method to do this. Regards, Tom |
