I dunno.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891338/en-us may offer some information for you. Maybe you are getting an error message listed there. If not, what error message do you get? Your problem could be a software firewall problem. You may have disabled cookies or some other setting in IE for MSN or Microsoft. See 4 more places below. - quote - > "Dick Watson" <littlegreengecko[at]mind-enufalready-spring.com> wrote in

To log in offline, you will need to use the password in effect when the file was made. Restoring a backup file may be your fix. I suggest that you copy your backup files to other media before you proceed with other things. |

Because, in all likelihood, your ability to download banking data was> server somewhere. > But if my local file also has all my data, and I never want to access it > from another computer, and I can download banking data, why work "online"? conditioned upon Money getting access to that data through MS servers and a thing called "third party services". These are services that exist out there in Web land that "pretend" to be you and login to your FIs, just as you would, and they "screen scrape" the web pages you would normally see when you log into the FI's web site. They navigate to and select the data that Money expects to download and format it appropriately for that process. Some of this data, as well as your FI login credentials, end up stored on MS servers as this whole process unwinds. |

| I 've used Money for 3 years. Start page has login with userid (email) and saved password (shown as dots) and has worked fine all this time. Now all of a sudden I can't login. (Maybe it's maintenance so I'll try later.) Meanwhile I'd like to understand: Is the password on the start page a local file password? or a Live ID password? (work offline is not selected). I clicked "reset password" which led me thru the reset of my Live Id password. Still can't get into money. What if the local money file password is different? I can't remember if I ever set a local file password. Working "online" I believe means there is a copy of all my data on a MS server somewhere. But if my local file also has all my data, and I never want to access it from another computer, and I can download banking data, why work "online"? Barry |
