Hi Bob

And, unless they added it this year I wonder if he knows that Quicken will
not convert ANY version of Money.

Think about it! How on earth could Microsoft program Money to convert Q2004
files when Money was released before Q2004!

Only answer is to wait until M2005 is released which should have Q2004
converters.

I switched from Quicken 2000. I sent questions to Quicken
asking about Q2003 support for multiple currencies and was
told the department did not handle these requests. They
directed me to the same page where I had entered my
requests. Stumbled across M2004, downloaded the free trial
and bought the product. I wish M2004 had print preview and
back-up to CDR but I can work around these problems. It
handles multiple currencies well and that helps me.

If the past is any indication, they will address it with M05; but M05 won't
ever import Q05. Since M04 came out before Q04, it couldn't just "guess" at
what the file format would be and hope for the best.

BTW, this is more than Money users get from Quicken.

Does MS plan to address the non-conversion of Q2004
issue? I switched to Quicken 2004 a couple of months ago
and would like to move to Money 2004, but not unless it
will convert my Q data.

I made the switch. Used Quicken 2 through Quicken 99. Tried Quicken
deluxe2004. Should say I fought it. Could not get it to do what I wanted. It
locked up one of my credit card accounts to where I had to call the CC
issuer to unlock. this happened twice. Saw where Money 2004Deluxe had a 60
free trial. Down loaded, played with it , Bought it. Returned my Quicken
for credit. In some ways Money is a little clutsey compared to Quicken but I
am getting used to it. No trouble converting the Quicken 99 files to Money

Thanks. I still have my original Q2002 data files. FYI,
Quicken 2004 won't any Money file.

Be aware that Money 2004 will not convert Quicken 2004. In General
Money (N) will only convert Quicken (N-1) or earlier.

Default Money 2004 vs. Quicken 2004

Hello all,

I've been a loyal Quicken customer for many years up until
now. I was using Quicken 2002 Deluxe and I upgraded to
Quicken Premier 2004. I had many problems running Q2004,
specifically in the download transactions area. Afte 3
days of struggling, I gave up and reverted back to my
Q2002.

I'm now thinking of using Money 2004, probably the Deluxe
version. What do other users of Quicken that have moved to
Money think about Money? One thing that bothers me is a
rumor that after 2 (or is it 3?) years a version of Money
will no longer accept downloaded transactions and you're
forced into upgrading. Is this true?

I'm generally not a fan of Microsoft products, but it
seems that Intuit is really dropping the ball on customer
support and a quality product. What do you think? Thanks.

Dave
