| I have this same problem with Money 2003. Installed on a new machine, and it worked fine for the first couple days. Now when I try to access updates online, I get the same program hang. I've tried uninstall/reinstall several times, but that didn't work either. Please let me know if you've got any more info on this. Tks. - quote - > -----Original Message----- > I'm using MS Money 2003 deluxe. First, I suddenly stopped being able > to have it login using my Passport account a couple months ago. | If we knew how to help with that, rest assured we would. If we could wrap our fingers around the necks of the people who designed the quotes download process, we might do that too. Have you read the FAQ article on this? Have you tried at multiple different times of day/night? | Appreciate all the help with killing Money, but the main issue is that Money isn't downloading quotes. That is the problem I can't seem to find any help on. I know that it is happening to several people out there. Thanks, - quote - > -----Original Message----- > In microsoft.public.money, Dick Watson wrote: > > Not recommended to C+A+D. | Not recommended to C+A+D. Money is not "hung," typically. It is just waiting on something that isn't happening and it waits a LONG time. (Upwards of several hours, maybe. Leave it alone some time and I think you will find it eventually comes back.) Disconnecting from the network will generally timeout these connections immediately. <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:084f01c3aa6a$16295a50$a101280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > First, only way to get out of the hang up is to use cntrl > alt delete and use the task manager to kill money. |

| Having the same issue. I've posted several notes so far, and even sent a note to MS ... nothing. From the various notes here there are several people having the same problem. First, only way to get out of the hang up is to use cntrl alt delete and use the task manager to kill money. On the downloads, I can get my to partially work now, but had to take all indices, and mutal funds out of it. I pretty sure the problem has to do with the server Money goes to get the information but can't fix it. Nice, eh - quote - > -----Original Message----- > I'm using MS Money 2003 deluxe. | I'm using MS Money 2003 deluxe. First, I suddenly stopped being able to have it login using my Passport account a couple months ago. I found a post that said to regsvr32 msxml3.dll or whatever. That fixed that, but before I fixed that and after, when I click Update it hangs on the "Connect/Cancel" window and msmoney.exe eats up 100% utilization. I let it run and run and it never stops. So the update is basically hanging the application. Any ideas? |
